Agency, by far, is one of the most important topics to be discussed and reviewed. It touches almost every aspect of your job as a real estate agent. We will look at the general concepts of agency, the specifics of buyer and seller representation, duties, your disclosure requirements, dual and designated representation and the different forms used.

An Attorney and Entrepreneur, Keith founded Vesta Settlements in 2011 and has overseen its growth from one employee in a temporary office space to a team 40 across six offices.  Keith established and oversees the “big picture” for Vesta and ensures execution across operations and business development. Vesta has been included in the Washington Business Journal’s List of Largest Title Companies 10 years in a row.

Simultaneous with the founding of Vesta Settlements, Keith founded what is now Barrett & Everhart, PLLC, which acts as counsel to Vesta Settlements and provides real estate related legal services to clients throughout Virginia.

After transitioning from the private practice of law where he concentrated on litigation, Keith entered the real estate title and settlement business in early 2005.  He quickly built a reputation as a trusted resource, educator and advisor to the real estate community on real estate transactions and related matters.  Keith has conducted in excess of 5,000 real estate settlements, while also teaching a wide range of seminars and classes across Northern Virginia, including at NVAR, DAAR, BRAR, FAAR, individual brokerages, lending offices, sales meetings, tradeshows and business retreats.  Keith has also shared his real estate and business knowledge on podcasts, radio and for the Virginia Land Title Association.

Keith is a licensed attorney in Virginia, New York, Connecticut and D.C., a licensed title agent, and a Virginia Real Estate Board approved instructor.  He serves on the Northern Virginia Area Association of Realtors (“NVAR”) Attorney Roundtable Committee (Past Chairman), is a member of the Virginia Bar Association Real Estate Section, serves on the Virginia Bar Association Real Estate Council, served on the NVAR Forms Committee for 8 years, including as Past Chairman and is on the Board of Directors for Loudoun Habitat for Humanity.

Before getting into real estate sales, Ann was the Director of Training for a national computer sales franchisor.  She stepped away from this position to raise her children in Fairfax County.  In 1994, the family’s move Ashburn, Virginia in Loudoun County opened the door to what has become more than a just a great career in real estate – this move ignited a passion.

From 2011 to 2024, Ann has helped many people launch and expand their real estate careers through her affiliation with the Moseley School of Real Estate where she taught the Virginia Real Estate Licensing courses for new agents and the Broker Licensing courses. 

From 2010 to 2017, Ann held positions as Principal Broker, Certified Instructor and Productivity Coach for Keller Williams Realty offices in Northern Virginia.  In 2018, Ann founded The Relianz Group.  Through the Relianz Group, Ann sells residential real estate while continuing to develop and present real estate training offerings in Winchester and Northern Virginia.   In 2023, Ann earned her WV Real Estate License and joined the BRAR Education Committee.

Outside of real estate, Ann enjoys a busy life that revolves around her faith, family and friends.  “Simple” events may gather twenty to forty people together at her home, giving Ann many opportunities to pursue her enthusiasm for cooking and entertaining.  Known for her easy-going nature and her ability to make people laugh, Ann continues to delight in the joys that come from shared experiences of breaking bread together and the laughter that ensues when she and her husband Bob are surrounded by their children and grandchildren.

Krissy Shellenberger is the owner and founder of Real Advantage Transaction Management. Krissy has been involved in real estate for her entire life, coming from a family who has sold real estate since the 1980s. She obtained her Virginia real estate license after graduating from college (James Madison University) and also obtained her real estate license in Alaska, selling residential real estate in the Anchorage area for a year and a half while her husband was stationed in Anchorage with the US Army.
