Knowing what a buyer wants does not take much skill. Understanding why a buyer is looking for certain features requires great questioning skills and listening skills. An in-depth buyer consultation is the key to building the foundation for a successful transaction and developing a client for life. 

 

Rick Cockrill, a northern Virginia native, has over 35 years of experience in the real estate industry, with 33 years as a broker. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from George Mason University in accounting. He is a graduate of the Realtors Institute (GRI), Certified Residential Specialists (CRS), Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR), Accredited Buyer Representative Manager (ABRM), Virginia State Certified in Risk Management. 

He has been a VREB licensed real estate instructor since 1992 and was a 10-year member of the Virginia Association of Realtors (VAR) Professional Standards Road Show teaching ethics and professional standards across the state. He continues to teach Ethics and Professional Standards.  He is also a Keller Williams Realty International Regional trainer, teaching many topics and specializing in Business Planning and Finances.  He was President of the Dulles Area Association of Realtors (DAAR) in 2001.

In December of 1997 he was inducted into the DAAR "Hall of Fame" for playing a major role in the history and growth of the association and real estate industry. In 1998 he received the DAAR "Code of Ethics" award; in 1999 he received the DAAR "Realtor of the Year" award.  In 2000 he received the DAAR "Realtor Political Action Award" and in 2006 he received VAR’s Code of Ethic’s Leadership Award. Rick is a graduate of the first class (2005) of the Virginia Leadership Academy.  He is also a member of the Omega Tau Rho Fraternity of the National Association of Realtors which is bestowed upon Realtors who are recognized for exemplary dedication and service, and the high esteem in which recipients are held by fellow members of the REALTOR organization. 

Rick has been with Keller Williams since May of 2006 where he now works as the Principal Broker of the Winchester/Leesburg Market Center for VA, MD And WV as well as the General Manager of Risk Management for The Alliance Group, which has 6 Keller Williams Market Centers.
